Job summary

GovTech Singapore is seeking a Principal Developer, Platforms to build the platform core, set engineering standards, and ensure reliability after go-live.

You will lead vendor code reviews, design CI/CD pipelines, container infrastructure, and observability, and guide AI integration across the platform.

7+ years of senior engineering experience in production systems, with strong Python and frontend skills, and public-sector familiarity are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a senior or principal engineer with production systems exposure.
• Strong full-stack development experience in Python and a modern frontend framework.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, containerisation, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience leading middleware and API design for integrating legacy systems.
• Knowledge of security-by-design and zero-trust principles.
• Experience deploying AI/LLM solutions in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Build platform core with internal tooling, integration middleware, and shared services connecting the Digital Shopfront to the wider ecosystem.
• Translate architecture and designs into working software with the team.
• Design and oversee CI/CD pipelines, container infrastructure, and observability stack.
• Review vendor code, architecture decisions, and test coverage; provide guidance on quality and security.
• Apply AI capabilities across the platform, including prompt pipelines and structured outputs.
• Design for scale and security: token management, caching, rate limiting, and performance optimization.
• Champion prioritisation of technical debt and foundational work for long-term platform health.
