Job summary

Links International seeks a senior mechanical/mechatronics engineer to lead platform enhancements and develop new architectures aligned with product roadmaps. You will own key components, drive testing strategies, and collaborate across Mechanical, Electronics, Software, Manufacturing, Sustainability, and Quality teams to ensure scalable, manufacturable designs for high-volume production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in product development and transfer to manufacturing, preferably within high-volume production environments.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering, thermal management, fluid dynamics, and mechanical design will be an advantage.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools such as Siemens NX or SolidWorks.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with exposure to structured methodologies such as Design for Six Sigma.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead enhancement of product platforms and develop new architectures to support roadmaps.
• Drive improvements in performance, quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Define and execute platform development strategies aligned with business objectives and roadmaps.
• Take ownership of key components and system-level solutions used within the platform.
• Identify opportunities for optimization and oversee implementation of improvements.
• Collaborate with Product Project Managers and technical leaders to validate solutions and maximise platform value.
• Develop test methodologies, plans and validation activities with testing teams.
• Analyse performance at component and system levels to ensure robustness and compliance with requirements.
• Conduct competitor benchmarking to assess competitiveness and identify opportunities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and supplier innovations for potential integration.
• Support technology scouting and contribute to long-term innovation initiatives.
• Act as a technical focal point across Mechanical, Electronics, Software, Manufacturing, Sustainability and Quality teams.
• Define system requirements, interfaces, and technical solutions enabling platform deployment.
• Foster collaboration to accelerate development and ensure seamless integration.
• Partner with R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing and Quality to move concepts to production.
• Ensure platform designs are scalable, manufacturable and ready for high-volume deployment.
