Job summary

Castlery in Singapore is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to own payroll across global markets, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely processing.

You will reconcile inputs and outputs, maintain strong controls and audit trails, and partner with Finance for month-end and workforce cost reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the numbers. Manage end-to-end payroll across global markets, ensuring every pay run is accurate, compliant and on time.
• Reconcile everything. Validate payroll inputs and outputs, investigate variances and make sure every dollar can be accounted for.
• Build financial discipline into payroll. Maintain strong controls, documentation and audit trails across payroll, statutory submissions and employee payments.
• Turn payroll data into insight. Analyse payroll movements, exceptions and trends, and surface anything that doesn’t look right.
• Partner closely with Finance. Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations and supporting schedules for month-end, audits and workforce cost reporting.
• Solve problems at the root. Don’t just correct an error — understand why it happened and put the process or control in place so it doesn’t happen again.
• Make payroll smarter. Work with our People Systems team to automate manual work, improve system controls and build processes that scale.

We’re looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our People team and take ownership of payroll across multiple markets. This role will suit someone who is highly numerical, detail-oriented and comfortable working with reconciliations, controls and large datasets. We’re open to candidates from payroll, financial accounting, management accounting or commercial analysis backgrounds who enjoy working with numbers and getting things right.

What You Need To Succeed

• Comfortable with reconciliations, variance analysis and investigating discrepancies.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, audit requirements and data integrity.
• Experience with payroll systems, HRIS and Excel.
• Able to work independently, manage deadlines and take ownership of issues through to resolution.
• Payroll experience across multiple markets is a strong advantage, but we are also open to finance professionals looking to move into payroll.
