Job summary

Singapore LNG Corporation (SLNG) is seeking an Optimization Algorithm Specialist to develop models and tools for scheduling and inventory at SLNG terminals. You will implement optimization algorithms for vessel scheduling and tracking, and support data analysis to uncover trends and operational constraints.

You will document workflows, contribute to SOPs, and collaborate with commercial, operations, and IT teams while staying current with new optimization techniques and tools.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in Operations Research or data analytics.
• Some experience or coursework in optimization techniques (e.g., linear programming, integer programming).
• Familiarity with Python or another data analysis language (R, MATLAB).
• Understanding of databases and data handling (Excel, MySQL, or SQLite).
• Attention to detail and good documentation habits.
• Strong willingness to learn and take on technical challenges.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or related field.
• Interest or exposure to energy industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Help run and maintain optimization algorithms to support vessel scheduling and inventory tracking.
• Support data analysis tasks to identify trends, constraints, and operational challenges.
• Assist in preparing reports, visualizations, and presentations for internal stakeholders and external parties.
• Document workflows, models, and processes clearly and systematically to support knowledge sharing and maintenance.
• Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to optimization processes and tools.
• Work closely with various teams (commercial, operations, IT) to understand data and optimization needs.
• Learn and apply basic optimization methods and industry tools under guidance.
• Stay updated on new techniques and tools relevant to optimization and analytics.

Singapore LNG Corporation is committed to building Singapore into a regional LNG hub. The Throughput Business Team plays a key role in this by overseeing LNG carrier scheduling, storage, regasification, and send-out to the national gas grid.
