Job summary

Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd is seeking an Optimization Algorithm Specialist to support the development and maintenance of optimization models that improve terminal operations, vessel scheduling, and inventory tracking. You will work with commercial, operations, and IT teams, documenting workflows and SOPs while applying basic optimization methods under guidance.

Qualifications

• Fundamental knowledge of Operations Research or data analytics from projects or internships.
• Experience with optimization techniques (linear/integer programming) preferred.
• Familiarity with Python or another data-analysis language (R, MATLAB).
• Basic understanding of databases and data handling (Excel, MySQL, SQLite).
• Strong documentation habits and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and tackle technical challenges.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, OR or related field.
• Interest or exposure to energy industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing models and tools to support scheduling and inventory planning for LNG terminals.
• Help run and maintain optimization algorithms to support vessel scheduling and inventory tracking.
• Support data analysis tasks to identify trends, constraints, and operational challenges.
• Assist in preparing reports, visualizations, and presentations for internal stakeholders and external parties.
• Document workflows, models, and processes clearly and systematically to support knowledge sharing and maintenance.
• Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to optimization processes and tools.
• Work closely with various teams (commercial, operations, IT) to understand data and optimization needs.
• Learn and apply basic optimization methods and industry tools under guidance.
• Stay updated on new techniques and tools relevant to optimization and analytics.
