Job summary

NETS invites applications for a Data Centre Operations role focusing on daily data centre activities and uptime monitoring. The successful candidate will support batch processing, backups, and server reboots, ensuring high availability and security across the NETS Data Centre facilities in Singapore.

Candidates should have a Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology, 1–2 years in a data centre, and strong knowledge of Windows Server, UNIX, and AIX.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Data Centre environment is preferred.
• Strong basic knowledge of Windows server, UNIX, and AIX.
• Ability to work in a 24-hour rotating shift with shift allowance.
• Proactive, with good initiative and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily data centre operations (batch processing, reports, backups, tape management, server reboots).
• Monitor systems uptime and connectivity to ensure high availability; coordinate with vendors or second-level support.
• Log and submit problem management records and assign to the appropriate party.
• Ensure strict adherence to physical security procedures.
• Escort personnel to and from the Data Centres at Kim Chuan & Bedok.

The NETS Group is a leading payments services group, enabling digital payments for merchants, consumers and banks across the entire payments value chain.

The Group operates Singapore’s national debit scheme enabling customers of DBS Bank/POSB, HSBC, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and UOB to make payments using their ATM cards or mobile devices at more than 130,000 acceptance points in the country as well as online payments.

Overall Function

Reporting to the Head of Data Centre, the incumbent will primarily be involved in the day-to-day operations of the NETS Data Centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day data centre/ computer operations (batch processing, printing reports, systems backup, tape management, server reboots, facilities and infrastructure checks in the data centre)
• Pro-actively monitor the data centre systems’ uptime and connectivity to ensure system availability to prevent any down time, and coordinate problem resolution with vendor or second level support groups.
• To log and submit problem management record and assign to appropriate party
• Ensure physical security procedures are followed strictly
• Performs escorting of personnel to and fro the Data Centres for both Kim Chuan & Bedok

Requirements

• Minimum Nitec/ Higher Nitec/ Diploma in Computer Science/ Information Technology or equivalent
• Able to perform 24-hours rotational shifts (3 shifts - with shift allowance)
• Strong initiative and able to work independently
• Good knowledge with Windows server / UNIX / AIX
• Minimum 1-2 years ofrelevant working experience in a Data Centre environment
