Job summary

Allozymes is seeking a Senior/Scientist II to lead chemistry-related development for enzymatic nucleic acid synthesis. You will work at the interface of oligonucleotide synthesis, enzymology, and analytical chemistry within a vibrant R&D team in Singapore.

The role emphasizes hands-on chemistry, rigorous documentation, and collaboration with protein engineering, microfluidics, and data science to translate platform capabilities into scalable workflows.

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years in organic or nucleic acid chemistry.
• Hands-on oligonucleotide synthesis, modification, and analysis.
• Experience with modified nucleotides and phosphoramidite chemistry.
• Analytical methods: HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, PAGE, CE, UV.
• Strong experimental design and independent troubleshooting.
• Excellent documentation and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimise oligonucleotide chemistry workflows.
• Develop enzymatic nucleic acid synthesis reactions.
• Support assay development for enzyme screening.
• Characterise oligonucleotide products via analytical methods.
• Collaborate with engineering, microfluidics, and data teams.
• Produce SOPs, data templates and reports.
• Ensure safety and compliant laboratory practices.
• Analyse results and propose next steps.
