Senior Offshore Crane Engineer — 12-Month Contract

Job summary

ELSA is seeking a Senior Crane Engineer to serve as the technical authority for the VE3500 main crane system. You will oversee boom repair, crane readiness, and lifting systems during drydock execution, coordinating OEM interfaces and lifecycle recommendations.

Responsibilities include reviewing lifting plans, defining ITP, NDT, and acceptance criteria, and preparing crane testing and certification documentation. Extensive offshore crane experience and ABS/Class interface knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, structural or marine engineering; lifting-engineering preferred.
• 10+ years in offshore heavy-lift cranes, structural repair, lifting appliances or crane commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Own crane technical scope, repair register, OEM interfaces and lifecycle recommendations.
• Coordinate repair drawings, materials, welding procedures and Class submissions.
• Lead boom, wire-rope, hook, sheave, brake, slip-ring, transformer, VFD and control-system workpacks.
