Job summary

Oceanstar Elite Engineering Groups PTE. LTD. seeks a senior mechanical engineer to lead design, specifications and selection of key marine equipment for offshore projects. You will own critical packages, review vendor documents, and guide technical decisions across disciplines to ensure safe, compliant delivery.

The role requires 10+ years in offshore FPSO projects, strong API/ASME expertise, and excellent English communication. Independent work style and mentorship responsibilities are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years' experience with minimum 5 years on FPSO/offshore projects.
• Strong expertise in API, ASME, vibration/reliability, IACS rules and IMO regulations.
• Works independently with strong communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, specification, datasheets and selection of major marine mechanical equipment packages.
• Own critical packages (e.g., diesel generator, steam boiler, deck crane, cargo pump).
• Review and approve datasheets, specifications and vendor documents.
• Lead technical bid evaluations and vendor clarifications.
• Act as technical authority during FAT, SAT and commissioning.
• Manage interfaces across disciplines and packages.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with project, client and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers.
