United Overseas Bank in Singapore is seeking an organised professional to join our corporate loans operations team. The role covers end-to-end loan processing, maintenance, and reconciliations across multiple systems, aligning with regulatory requirements.
The candidate will handle daily processing, reporting, and process improvements while working in rotating shifts. A degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience are expected, with strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
Process a full spectrum of wholesale banking loan transactions including loan disbursements, repayments, redemptions, rollovers, restructuring transactions, and account maintenance activities for overseas branches and booking locations.
Process loan account setup and maintenance in the Multi-Currency Loans System (MCL) and other related systems based on approved credit documentation and facility agreements.
Prepare and process payment instructions, remittances, and SWIFT messages through relevant banking systems.
Process accounting and financial entries relating to loans, payments, fees, interest, deposits, and general ledger transactions.
Perform limit implementation and maintenance in the Loans & Limit Exposure System (LES) and related systems.
Conduct daily reconciliations and investigate outstanding items, breaks, and discrepancies on a timely basis.
Ensure all transactions are processed accurately and within prescribed turnaround times and service level agreements.
Ensure compliance with MAS regulations, local regulatory requirements, bank policies, and operational procedures.
Escalate operational exceptions, transaction issues, discrepancies, and potential control concerns promptly to Team Leaders or approvers.
Maintain high standards of productivity, accuracy, customer service, and operational quality.
Support the preparation of regular and ad-hoc operational reports and management information.
Maintain proper records, filing and archival of loan documents and operational records.
Support system testing, user acceptance testing and implementation activities when required.
Assist in the updating of operational procedures, workflow documents and process manuals.
Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and controls.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve operational issues and support business requirements.
Adhere to MAS regulations, internal policies, standard operating procedures and control requirements.
Ensure compliance with maker-checker controls and operational risk management standards.
Identify and elevate potential control issues, operational risk events and processing errors.
Support audit, compliance and regulatory reviews by providing required information and documentation.
Degree Holder with 1- 3 years of corporate loans operations experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications especially Excel and Word
Comfortable in data handling and analysis with Excel
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet strict payment related cutoff times
Strong oral and written communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently with key stakeholders to resolve issues
Self-motivated with initiative and a strong drive to achieve quality work
Good team player
Able to work rotating shifts, including Singapore Public Holidays.
Day Shift: 9:00am to 6:30pm
Afternoon Shift: 3:00pm to 12:30am
Night Shift: 12:00am to 9:30am
