Job summary

Grab is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for Search & Recommendations to design and deploy ML systems that power search ranking and personalized recommendations at scale. You will work with ML engineers and data scientists to translate data into features that improve user engagement, with emphasis on offline and online evaluation.

You will lead model development, integrate LLMs, and collaborate with product teams to ensure latency requirements are met and production readiness is achieved.

Qualifications

• Master's in Computer Science or related field or equivalent production ML experience.
• 3+ years building and deploying DL models for search, recommendation systems, or NLP in production.
• Proficient in Python and Scala to build data pipelines and model serving systems.
• Experience with DL frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX) to implement neural networks.
• Experience with LLM fine-tuning and deployment for search and recommendation tasks.
• Experience with A/B testing frameworks and statistical evaluation methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement deep learning algorithms for search ranking and multi-objective personalization.
• Fine-tune and deploy Large Language Models to improve query understanding and relevance.
• Lead offline evaluation and online A/B testing to validate model performance.
• Collaborate with software engineers to scale models from prototype to production with latency targets.
• Translate data insights into product features through collaboration with PMs and ops teams.
• Monitor production performance and implement retraining pipelines as data evolves.
