Job summary

TikTok’s Singapore team is seeking a Senior Search Engineer to build and own the search engine, combining information retrieval with modern ML methods. You’ll work on query understanding, video understanding, and ranking to deliver the best search experience for users, within a fast-growing, collaborative team.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in search or recommender systems, strong coding skills in C++/Python/Java, and experience in NLP, ranking, ads, and ML.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or above in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in search / recommendation.
• Proficient coding skills in C++, Python, and Java; strong algorithms & data structures.
• Experience in NLP, ranking, ads, search engines, recommender systems, and machine learning.

Responsibilities

• Optimize the searching quality to provide TikTok's users the best search experience.
• Combine product objectives with modern ML, NLP and Multimodal methods to improve search ranking (query understanding, video understanding, ranking).
