Job summary

Singapore General Hospital's Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory seeks a highly motivated professional with experience in clinical chemistry or specialised testing (LC-MS/MS, HPLC, ICP-MS) to join our team.

The role covers performing investigations, ensuring accurate reporting, supporting new tests, contributing to quality management, and providing training; leadership for lab functions when required. Applicants should hold a Masters or Degree and have 5+ years in clinical labs.

Qualifications

• Masters and/or Degree in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, Chemistry or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in clinical laboratories.
• Experience in clinical chemistry or specialised testing (e.g., LC-MS/MS, HPLC, ICP-MS) will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with quality assurance, quality management framework and laboratory accreditation standards.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively, with leadership capability when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine or complex laboratory investigations on biological specimens using specialized equipment.
• Ensure accurate, reliable, and timely reporting of laboratory results to support clinical decision-making.
• Apply scientific knowledge to support and troubleshoot analytical, instrument, and workflow issues.
• Participate in development, evaluation and implementation of new tests and technologies.
• Support quality management activities, including quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• Lead team members in specified laboratory functions to ensure regulatory compliance and accreditation.
• Provide training to laboratory personnel on test procedures.
• Contribute to data analytics and monitoring of laboratory performance metrics.

Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and quality-driven individual with experience in clinical chemistry or specialised testing (e.g., LC-MS/MS, HPLC, ICP-MS) to join the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory at the Singapore General Hospital.

The main responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Perform routine or complex laboratory investigations on biological specimens using a wide range of specialized equipment according to established standard operating procedures and quality standards.
• Ensure accurate, reliable, and timely reporting of laboratory results to support clinical decision-making
• Apply scientific knowledge and technical expertise to support and troubleshoot analytical, instrument, and laboratory workflow issues.
• Participate in the development, evaluation and implementation of new and innovative laboratory tests and technologies.
• Support and drive quality management activities, including quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead team members in specified laboratory functions to ensure compliance with regulatory and laboratory accreditation. requirements.
• Provide training to laboratory personnel on laboratory test procedures.
• Contribute to data analytics and monitoring of laboratory performance metrics to enhance quality, efficiency, and service delivery.

Job requirements:
