Job summary

Recruit Express Pte Ltd. is seeking an experienced Team Leader to oversee daily laboratory operations in a clinical setting and guide a team to deliver high-quality, timely testing services in Singapore.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive lab quality and regulatory knowledge, and hands-on supervision of technicians, with a focus on safety, SOP compliance, and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry or Microbiology.
• 8-10 years of experience in central or clinical laboratory.
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards and quality systems in labs.
• Experience with assay troubleshooting and QC/PT investigations.
• Familiar with MS Office and lab software such as Biorad URT.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily laboratory activities, manpower planning, and workflow.
• Supervise laboratory technicians and liaise with Laboratory Management.
• Ensure safety, SOP compliance, ISO and quality standards.
• Monitor equipment performance and resolve operational issues.
• Oversee analytical and post-analytical sample issues, including investigation and remediation.
• Monitor turnaround time in accordance with sponsor requirements.
• Drive process improvements and optimise laboratory workflows.
• Lead new CSV and assay validation activities in Singapore.
• Oversee inventory management and import licences where required.
• Troubleshoot assay, QC and PT failures.

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to oversee daily laboratory operations and lead a team in delivering high-quality and timely testing services.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily laboratory activities, manpower planning and workflow.
• Supervise Laboratory Technicians and act as the key point of contact between the team and Laboratory Management.
• Ensure compliance with safety, SOPs, ISO and applicable quality standards.
• Monitor laboratory equipment performance and resolve operational issues.
• Oversee analytical and post-analytical sample issues, including investigation and remediation.
• Monitor work quality and turnaround time (TAT) in accordance with sponsor requirements.
• Drive process improvements and optimise laboratory workflows.
• Act as PPIC for relevant business or tissue banking activities in accordance with MOH requirements.
• Liaise with MOH and relevant authorities on regulatory matters, including PHMC, HBR framework, biosafety and waste management.
• Lead new CSV and assay validation activities in Singapore.
• Oversee inventory management and import licences where required.
• Troubleshoot assay, QC and PT failures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology or equivalent.
• Minimum *8-10 years of experience* in a central or clinical laboratory.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory quality systems, ISO standards and SOP compliance.
• Experience with assay troubleshooting, QC/PT investigations and laboratory operations.
• Familiar with MS Office, laboratory equipment software and Biorad URT or similar applications.
