Job summary

Illumina in Singapore seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for sequencing instrument platform. You will lead development of components for DNA sequencing equipment, integrating optical, mechanical, electrical, chemical subsystems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage external design and manufacturing partners, perform analyses, and drive designs from concept to manufacturing, ensuring reliability and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical design.
• Experience delivering electro-mechanical systems and designs.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into subsystem specifications.
• Design precision electro-mechanical and fluidic mechanisms.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Manage outsourced design and manufacturing relationships.
• Perform mechanical and thermal analysis of subsystem and system designs.
• Transfer products to manufacturing and resolve issues in manufacturing and the field.
