Job summary

Alstern Technologies Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to plan and develop designs for new products and pipeline-related services. You will prototype, test and validate mechanical concepts, perform calculations and prepare CAD drawings to industry standards.

The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD/Inventor/SolidWorks), and ability to work both independently and with cross-functional teams across multidisciplinary projects in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, drafting or pipeline-related industries.
• Experience in mechanical equipment or machinery R&D with knowledge of packing seals, cutting tools, hydraulic systems and assembly is a plus.
• Proficient with 2D/3D CAD software: AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Ability to perform simulations and analyze test data for mechanical components, fluids and stresses.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical drawing skills.
• Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conceptualize and develop mechanical designs for new products, equipment and pipeline-related services.
• Design and develop prototypes, evaluate performance and manufacturing processes.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, testing and validation of designs.
• Prepare and maintain technical drawings, plans and specifications using CAD.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, vendors and contractors for project execution.
• Use Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or SolidWorks for 2D/3D design and drafting to standards.
• Prepare BOM, technical documentation and engineering reports.
• Develop budgets, costing and resource estimates for machine development projects.
• Prepare statistical reports and undertake other ad-hoc engineering duties as assigned.
