Job summary

ALSTERN TECHNOLOGIES SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop mechanical systems for new products and pipeline-related services, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will prototype, simulate, test, and validate designs, prepare technical drawings with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks), and contribute to BOMs, cost estimates, and project documentation. 3+ years of relevant experience required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in mechanical engineering/drafting.
• Experience in mechanical equipment or machinery R&D with knowledge of seals, cutting tools, hydraulics helpful.
• Advanced proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software: AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks.
• Ability to perform engineering simulations and analyze test data (mechanical components, fluids and stresses).
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and drawing skills.
• Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Willing to undertake other ad-hoc engineering duties.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conceptualize and develop mechanical designs for new products and pipeline services.
• Design and develop prototypes, evaluate performance and manufacturing processes.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, testing and validation of designs.
• Prepare and maintain technical drawings and specifications using CAD.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, vendors and contractors for project execution.
• Use AutoCAD/Inventor/SolidWorks for 2D/3D design and drafting.
• Prepare BOMs, technical documents and engineering reports.
• Develop budget estimates, costing and resource plans for machine projects.
• Prepare statistical reports and undertake other engineering duties as assigned.
