Job summary

Agilent Technologies is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer to lead design and development of automation solutions used at Agilent manufacturing sites. The role involves proposing architecture, managing CAD data, and producing detailed drawings and BOMs for procurement.

The candidate will perform mechanical testing, root-cause analysis, and collaborate across internal teams and external partners worldwide. Travel to sites globally is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering required.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant mechanical design experience in a factory automation environment.
• Experience in designing automation systems, mechanisms, plastics, metal parts, and EMI shielding.
• Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with leadership and communication abilities.
• Team player able to multitask and collaborate with internal/external partners.
• Willingness to travel to Agilent sites globally based on project needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of automation solutions for internal use at Agilent manufacturing sites.
• Propose mechanical architecture, component placement, CAD data management, platform standardization.
• Perform calculations, selections, and BOM preparation for procurement.
• Lead mechanical design tests, reliability tests, and root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external partners for project delivery.
• Deliver designs compliant with corporate standards and project timelines.
• Be part of implementation and commissioning activities at Agilent sites worldwide.
