Job summary

CAI in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to lead mechanical commissioning and testing on client sites, coordinating contractors and vendors to achieve commissioning deliverables.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, OSHA knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to read P&IDs. Applicants must be Singapore citizens or PR. Extensive travel (75%) is expected in a construction environment, with a sign-on bonus for senior candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of OSHA (or equivalent) safety requirements.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical P&IDs.
• Knowledge of mission-critical design concepts.
• Citizenship or PR status in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Lead and steer all mechanical commissioning and testing activities for all contracted testing and commissioning work related to mechanical systems at the client’s site.
• Act as technical expert and advisor, advising on feasibility, practicality, and cost/resource impact of solutions.
• On-site technical lead coordinating information from equipment vendors, clients, contractors, and site owners.
• Participate in meetings with client, consultants, and contractors to provide expert opinion and sign off on commissioning deliverables.
• Ensure all certifications and documentation are provided by contractors and vendors for commissioning records.
• Review design documents (BoD, OPR, drawings) for commissioning requirements and approve documents.
• Develop test scripts, ITPs, FATs, and FWTs as needed by the client.
• Ensure delivery quality aligns with testing and commissioning requirements and client specs.
• Track progress and communicate updates to Project Manager and client teams.
