Job summary

Molecule? Molex is seeking a Mechanical Design Automation Engineer to drive automation initiatives across product development and manufacturing. You will design and implement automated assembly equipment, fixtures, and tooling to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency.

You will lead projects from concept through production, validate equipment, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external suppliers. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Mechatronics/Automation.
• Minimum 5 years in machine design or automation.
• Experience with robotics, motion control, vision systems; CAD proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated machines, fixtures, and assembly solutions.
• Maintain docs: 3D/2D drawings, BOMs, sequences, specs.
• Lead machine design reviews and support fabrication, assembly, and debugging.
• Support prototype build, qualification, and production readiness.
• Collaborate to ensure manufacturability and system integration.
• Analyze data, troubleshoot, and improve machine performance.
