Job summary

FairPrice Group in Singapore is seeking a Category Manager (Meat & Delicatessen) to lead the end-to-end commercial and operational performance of the Beef and Delicatessen business, including fresh meat counters and the Frozen and Chilled Beef portfolio across supermarket formats.

The role holds overall accountability for business profitability, category strategy, sourcing, operational excellence, customer experience and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Food Science, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
• 15–20 years in retail, supermarket operations, food retail or F&B.
• At least 5 years managing P&L, revenue, margin and profitability.
• Experience in meat counters, fresh food retail, delicatessen or similar operations.
• Proven track record leading end-to-end commercial and operational performance across multiple locations.
• Experience in meat sourcing, category management, supplier negotiations and inventory management is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of P&L, margin optimisation and commercial decision-making.
• Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and measurable results.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end business strategy and performance of Beef and Delicatessen portfolio across formats.
• Define and execute category strategies: assortment, sourcing, pricing, promotions and supplier partnerships.
• Drive supplier selection, negotiations and product quality to ensure competitive supply.
• Oversee financial performance including sales, gross margin and operating expenses.
• Develop annual business plans, budgets, forecasts and targets.
• Ensure consistent operating standards for meat counters and manage food safety and service delivery.
• Drive inventory health, replenishment, stock turns and waste reduction.
• Lead Counter Specialist team and partner with Formats and Store Operations on capability development.
