The CAP Consulting Group Pte Ltd represents a global commodity trading MNC based in town, hiring a Risk Specialist to support market risk across utilities (gas/power/carbon) and dry bulk assets. The role combines market risk monitoring with some quant developer tasks, requiring strong modelling and coding skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in a market risk role at an energy trader or utilities firm.
• Exposure to both physical and paper trading across utilities or dry bulk.
• Proficiency in at least one coding language (Python preferred; VBA acceptable).
• Strong numerical, data modelling and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support market risk monitoring including VAR, position and scenario analysis.
• Develop and maintain pricing/risk tools in Excel/Python.
• Collaborate with risk takers and front-office for risk mitigation.
• Engage in broader risk/valuation projects and data visualization.
