Job summary

V.SHIPS ASIA GROUP PTE. LTD. seeks a Marine Superintendent to act as the marine resource for the fleet, ensuring vessels operate to the highest safety standards and comply with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Essential: Class 2 (1st Mate) certificate and seagoing experience as Chief Officer per STCW with at least 3 years in senior ship roles and 5 years in related ship type experience.
• Alternative: other formal education plus at least 3 years in senior ship management operations in shipping.
• Alternative: tertiary qualification in management/engineering/physical science with 3+ years senior ship management experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is the top priority and make decisions to keep operations safe and compliant.
• Deliver marine management services to customers and ensure vessels perform. Monitor navigational standards.
• Oversee audits, senior officer performance appraisals, and development; liaise with DPA and ISPS requirements.
• Collaborate with fleet cell to drive safety culture and improve KPIs; monitor HSEQ data and environmental aspects.
• Coordinate with P&I on cargo/operations matters and prepare vessel visits for safety culture promotion.
• Prepare vessels for PSC/Flag/Oil Major inspections and drive outcomes from third party inspections.
