Job summary

American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) in Singapore seeks an Engineer who designs, reviews, and analyzes assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These tasks require the application of conventional knowledge in engineering to meet policy, method, and procedure standards.

You will perform detailed plan reviews, advise field operations, coordinate among disciplines, draft reports, and maintain ABS Quality System requirements.

Qualifications

  • Requires a university degree and at least five years of related industry experience.
  • International business experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed engineering review of plans for compliance with Rules and contracts.
  • Proposes technical advice to field operations and other offices.
  • Addresses moderately complex design issues and material standards.
  • Proposes new approaches and changes in methods or designs.
  • Drafts timely, accurate reports and correspondence.
  • Collaborates with clients to resolve technical problems.
  • Prepares weekly reports and billing for work performed.
  • Informs team of workload status to meet client needs.
  • Maintains ABS Quality System requirements after training.
