Job summary

Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) seeks a Senior Manager / Assistant Director to advance technology development and commercialization. You will lead strategic partnerships, shape innovation programmes, and work with researchers, industry partners, investors, and government agencies to accelerate translation of research into impactful commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of relevant experience in technology commercialization, venture creation, strategic partnerships, or related fields.
• Demonstrated track record in leading complex commercialization initiatives and strategic collaborations.
• Strong understanding of technology development and commercialization processes.
• Experience with startup creation, venture building, and fundraising.
• Familiarity with IP management, licensing, and technology transfer.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop strategic partnerships with industry, healthcare institutions, and investors.
• Drive BD efforts to establish new collaborations and initiatives.
• Develop business cases and partnership proposals aligned with SERI priorities.
• Negotiate with partners to co-develop translational research and commercialization programmes.
• Coordinate IP protection and licensing strategies with relevant offices.
• Monitor portfolio progress and report milestones to management.
• Support governance, COI reviews, and regulatory compliance.
• Review and manage research and commercial agreements.
• Contribute to grant applications and strategic programmes.
• Assist Director in strategic initiatives and project delivery.
