Job summary

Ocean Network Express in Singapore seeks a senior procurement professional to formulate and execute medium- to long-term fleet development plans, lead global vessel procurement, and coordinate with stakeholders within a complex, international environment.

You will drive newbuilding strategies, lead negotiations with shipyards (notably China), and perform financial modeling to support business cases, ensuring projects stay on budget and schedule. Proficiency in English and Mandarin is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, maritime studies or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in shipping, shipowning or brokerage environments.
• Track record in vessel procurement and S&P within shipping or shipbuilding industries.

• Develop comprehensive newbuilding ordering strategies and lead the execution of global vessel procurement activities
• Lead procurement negotiations with global shipyards- focusing primarily on China and actively build, strengthen, and maintain strategic partnerships with major shipbuilders
• Perform thorough financial modeling, profitability assessments, and feasibility analyses for proposed vessel investments to support business cases
• Track global shipbuilding trends and commercial terms to ensure procurement projects meet organizational objectives, budget constraints, and project timelines
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of new built vessels

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, preferably in Business, Maritime Studies, or related fields.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience within a shipping company, shipowner, or shipping brokerage environment.
• Proven track record in vessel procurement and Sale & Purchase (S&P) within the shipping, shipbuilding, or trading industries.
• Exceptional negotiation capabilities paired with business-level fluency in both English and Mandarin/Chinese (required for leading communications and negotiations with major Chinese shipyards).
• Basic financial analysis and profitability modeling capabilities, along with proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
