Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a senior technical leader to supervise pre-sale and post-sale activities in the semiconductor metrology arena. You will oversee a team, assess product fit for customers, and prepare specifications for customized solutions.

You will work with marketing and product teams to shape new offerings, share field insights, and allocate resources to drive efficient operations. 7–10+ years in semiconductors with leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10+ years in the semiconductor industry with customer-facing engagements.
• 2+ years in a team lead or managerial role with direct reports.
• Metrology applications experience is strongly preferred.

Job description

Job Summary & Responsibilities

• Manages both pre-sale and post-sale technical staff and support activities including assessment of how company products meet customer needs and the preparation of product specifications for development and installation of customized applications/solutions.
• May provide pre-sale technical support in sales presentations and product demonstrations. Establishes and maintains lines of communication with design engineering on issues such as considerations for product reliability.
• Works with marketing and product managers to define new products and may provide insight from the field back to these groups.
• Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
• Require to support pre-sales and post-sale and spend 50% of time providing pre-sale technical support and 50% of time providing post-sale technical support.
• Provides predominantly pre or post - sale support, match to the appropriate Pre-Sales or Post-Sales role.

Qualifications

Education: Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Control, Mechanical, Optical, Robotics or other Engineering fields associated with Semiconductor Manufacturing. Master’s or PhD are preferred.

Experience: Minimum 7-10+ years in the semiconductor industry, preferred minimum of 2 years as Team Lead or Manager with direct reports, managing customer facing technical engagements. Metrology Applications Manager experience is strongly preferred.
