Job summary

Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd is seeking an Instrumentation & Control Technician to ensure accuracy of instruments, calibrate and repair systems, and operate skilled in DCS, PLCs and flow computers within a cryogenic hydrocarbon facility.

The role requires knowledge of Gas Chromatographs, P&IDs, and analytical chemistry, with emphasis on safety, training, and continuous improvement in a state-of-the-art plant.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Instrumentation and Control technology including DCS, PLCs and Emergency shutdown systems.

Responsibilities

• Test, calibrate, and assure all instruments in service at the facility are accurate.
• Repair and resolve problems encountered with instruments in a timely fashion.
• Understand and be proficient working with facility computer systems (DCS, PLCs, flow computers, analyzers) and perform required preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Interact with instrument manufacturers to stay current with trends and keep the facility state-of-the-art with updates.
• Participate in emergency drills, safety meetings, and training seminars as required.
• Train facility personnel in the proper operation of instruments and recognizing problems.
• Practice continuous improvement and teamwork within the maintenance department.
• Attend all training courses per the written training plan.
• Carry out repairs on control systems as necessary.
• Perform calibration on analytical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Test, calibrate, and assure all instruments in service at the facility areaccurate.
• Repair and resolve problemsencounteredwith instruments ina timelyfashion.
• Understand and be proficient working with the facility computer systems, i.e. DCS, PLC’s, flow computers, andanalyzersand perform all required preventative and predictive maintenance on these systems and components.
• Interact with instrument manufacturers and representatives to stay current with the latest trends in instrumentation and keep the facility “State of the Art” with updates etc.
• Participate in emergency drills, safety meetings, and training seminars asrequired.
• Train other facility personnel in the proper way tooperateinstruments and recognize problems before they escape.
• Practice continuous improvement and teamworkin order tobe a positive force in the maintenance department.
• Is committed to attend all training courses as per the written training plan.
• Take onadditionalresponsibilities as directed bythe,I&E supervisor.
• Preference will be given to a candidate that has proven experience in the start-up of a grass roots hydrocarbon processing facility.
• Carry out repairs on control system as necessary.
• Perform all required calibration on analytical equipment.
• Be proficient in plant analysers, such as fiscal metering equipment, cryogenic measurement, sampling and analysis.
• Repair andmaintainall laboratory instrument and equipment including GLCs, hygrometers, LEL meters etc.
• Work closely with the SLNG terminal Maintenance and Operationsteam, and various disciplines within maintenance the operating team and the plant laboratory.

Requirements

• Diploma in Instrumentation and Control technology including DCS, PLCs F&Gs and Emergency shut down systems.
• Proven technical experience in Instrumentation and control systems in a cryogenic hydrocarbon producing or handling plant. Power and othertypeof plant experience will be considered.Knowledge of cryogenics and aspects of the natural gas industry a mandatory and must be acquired through company, EPC or vendor provided training.
• Working knowledge of both conventional pneumatic,hydraulicand electronicinstrumentation, &components.
• Ability to read piping and electrical schematics and P&IDs, PFDs logicdiagramand decipher technical manuals on a variety of specially designed instrument components used in the cryogenic industry.
• Skill in general wet chemistry techniques.
• Experience in operating and maintaining Gas Chromatograph.
• Basic laboratory safety skills (Management of Change procedures, MSDS system, chemical storage, waste disposal, proper handling of toxic or hazardous chemicals).
• Good exposure andexperience with dynamic control room type setting, stream analyzers and sampling systems.
