Job summary

Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control engineer to provide technical support to production and maintenance teams. The role emphasizes design, commissioning, maintenance, and safety lifecycle management within a large industrial facility.

You will collaborate with internal teams, liaise with regulatory stakeholders, and contribute to major turnarounds while ensuring compliance, reliability, and system integrity across critical plant systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years hands-on experience in instrumentation and control design and maintenance.
• Experience with functional safety lifecycle for process industries is advantageous.
• Knowledge of international design standards for electrical and instrumentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to Production and Maintenance teams for instrumentation and control issues.
• Collaborate to reduce instrument maintenance costs and improve system availability and performance.
• Liaise with government agencies for compliance related to gas pipelines, power grid interfaces, and metering systems.
• Prepare, review and update maintenance procedures for instruments, PLCs, SIS, ESDs, metering, CCTV and security devices.
• Conduct RCA of instrument incidents and implement preventive and corrective actions.
• Manage MOC projects to improve instrument reliability and resolve operational challenges.
• Ensure verification, inspection, testing and certification of equipment in hazardous areas and report to management.
• Support planning and execution of major maintenance turnarounds and shutdowns.
• Manage SIS lifecycle per industry standards and ensure system integrity.
• Support terminal expansion projects and optimize integration with existing plant infrastructure.
• Participate in emergency response activities as part of preparedness framework.

Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical expertise and support to the Production and Maintenance teams for instrumentation and control-related issues
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to reduce instrument maintenance costs and enhance system availability and performance
• Liaise with external stakeholders, including government agencies, to ensure compliance in areas such as gas pipeline networks, electrical power grid interfaces, and metering systems
• Prepare, review, and update maintenance procedures for instruments, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), fire and gas systems, Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESDs), metering systems, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), and security devices
• Conduct root cause analysis of instrument-related incidents and recommend effective preventive and corrective actions
• Manage and execute Management of Change (MOC) projects aimed at improving instrument reliability and resolving operational challenges
• Ensure proper verification, inspection, testing, and certification of electrical and instrument equipment used in hazardous areas of the terminal, with accurate reporting to management
• Support the planning and execution of major maintenance turnarounds and shutdowns
• Manage the functional safety lifecycle of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) in accordance with industry standards
• Support terminal expansion projects by ensuring system integrity, seamless integration with existing plant infrastructure, and identification of opportunities for optimisation
• Participate in emergency response activities and assume assigned responsibilities as part of the terminal's emergency preparedness framework

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• Professional accreditation, certification or membership with engineering bodies is advantageous
• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on experience in instrumentation and control design and maintenance, preferably in oil and gas or petrochemical industries
• In-depth knowledge of international engineering design standards for electrical and instrumentation systems, and familiarity with local regulatory codes and submission procedures
• Experience with the functional safety lifecycle for process industries in accordance with IEC 61511 an added advantage
• Strong background in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex electrical, instrument, and control systems in large-scale industrial facilities
