Job summary

PROFESSIONAL TESTING SERVICES PTE LTD in Singapore seeks an experienced supervisor to guide junior machinists in daily work, allocate tasks, and support workshop operations. You will oversee material planning and ensure work orders are completed accurately with proper traceability.

You will operate band saw, milling and lathe machines safely, conduct quality checks, maintain 5S standards, and collaborate with the Workshop Manager. Shift flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Professional Certificate or NITEC or GCE O Level.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in machining and operating milling, cutting and lathe machines.
• Minimum 2 years of experience leading and guiding a team of machinists.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Responsible, proactive and committed to quality workmanship.
• Comply with all company policies and workplace safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support junior machinists in their daily work and ensure work is carried out correctly.
• Assist in allocating daily work and manpower to meet operational requirements.
• Support the Workshop Manager in handling daily workshop operations including material planning control.
• Operate band saw, milling and lathe machines safely and efficiently.
• Cut and machine test specimens from metal samples according to work orders.
• Check specimens against work orders to ensure the correct dimensions and identification.
• Mark, stamp, store and retrieve specimens to maintain proper traceability.
• Report equipment, quality or operational issues to the Workshop Manager promptly.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure 5S standards are followed in the workshop.
• Assist the Workshop Manager and colleagues as required.
• Be willing to work shifts when required.
• Perform other related technical or operational duties as assigned.
