Job summary

Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd is seeking a Lead Process Control Engineer to drive process control, instrumentation and safety engineering across all phases of LNG terminal CAPEX projects.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will define the design basis, lead DCS/SIS/ESD, review vendor packages, and coordinate with Process, Electrical, Mechanical and IT/OT teams to ensure safe, reliable, and maintainable control systems for FEED, detailed design, procurement and start-up phases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience in oil/gas or LNG sectors.
• At least 5 consecutive years as Lead Process Control or Automation Engineer.
• End-to-end FEED/EPC project experience across design, testing and handover.
• Greenfield and brownfield project experience with live-plant interfaces.
• Broad knowledge of instrumentation, DCS, SIS/ESD, PLC, SCADA and networks.
• Experience in control philosophy development, alarm management and safeguarding.
• Functional safety lifecycle knowledge including HAZOP/LOPA/SIL.
• Familiarity with Singapore and international codes for instrumentation and safety.
• Experience with cybersecurity requirements and OT/IT coordination.
• Proficiency with engineering databases; SmartPlant Instrumentation preferred.
• Strong technical judgement and effective communication in English.
• Field engineering exposure in LNG terminals or oil/gas projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as Process Control focal point for CAPEX projects, guiding consultants, EPCs and vendors.
• Define process control strategy, design basis, specifications and project requirements.
• Lead design of instrumentation and control systems: DCS, SIS/ESD, PLC, SCADA and interfaces.
• Develop control philosophies, alarm rationalisation, interlocks and narratives.
• Support HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA, SIL, cybersecurity reviews and operability assessments.
• Ensure functional safety lifecycle requirements are defined, implemented and verified.
• Review proposals and deliverables; ensure technical alignment and quality.
• Manage brownfield integration, tie-ins, cutover planning and migration.
• Coordinate interfaces with Process, Electrical, Mechanical, IT/OT and Cyber Security teams.
• Assist regulatory documentation and vendor design reviews; plan FAT/SAT tests.
• Provide field engineering support during construction, commissioning and start-up.
• Maintain system configuration, data integrity and documentation handover.
