Job summary

Helius Technologies Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer (Java + Python) to join our backend team. You will use Java 8+ and Python, implement REST/SOAP services, and work with Spring Boot, JMS, and SQL databases.

The role requires strong CS fundamentals, TDD, and CI practices within an Agile environment. The position offers exposure to Wealth Management/Banking standards, legacy system challenges, and collaboration with internal/external stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable

Qualifications

• 8 to 12 years of experience is required.
• Core Java 8+, Python and JUnit.
• Spring Boot, REST/SOAP web services, and Spring core concepts.
• Strong CS fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, OOD).
• TDD and ability to write acceptance tests.
• Maven and basic Linux shell scripting.
• JMS/MQ and relational databases with SQL, joins and indexing.
• Familiarity with IntelliJ, Git, and SonarQube/SonarLint.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/XP).

Senior Java Software Engineer (Java + Python)

Job Requirement:

• 8 to 12 years of experience is required
• Core Java 8+, Python and JUnit.
• Spring Boot
• Strong computer science knowledge (algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design)
• TDD. Able to write acceptance test.
• Maven
• Basic Linux shell scripting commands
• Java Messaging Concepts. (JMS, MQ)
• Relational Database concepts, SQL, joins, index, triggers etc.
• Web Services Rest, SOAP.
• Spring core concepts.
• Experience in SQL queries optimisation
• Familiarity with Intellij, Git, SonarQube/SonarLint

Desirable:

• JBOSS (or any other application server knowledge).
• Java Server Faces, JPA, EJB knowledge.

• Analyse requirements, estimate efforts, plan timeline, manage progress.
• Ensure awareness, involvement and support from the key stakeholders and participants by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on the project status throughout its life cycle
• Drive and review technical and architectural design, enforce architectural guidelines and challenge status quo.
