Straive (formerly SPi Global) is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join the Central Region of Singapore on a full-time basis. This strategic leadership role will drive design, development, and implementation of robust, scalable Java solutions across the organisation.

You will mentor engineers, set technical standards, collaborate with product and infra teams, and lead code reviews to ensure quality.

Competenze

• 10–12 years of professional software development experience in Java.
• Experience designing large-scale distributed systems and microservices.
• Deep knowledge of Java frameworks including Spring and Hibernate.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience is a strong plus.
• Proven leadership with mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of patterns, SOLID principles, and architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containers, plus CI/CD.

We are seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join SPi Global (now Straive) in the Central Region of Singapore on a full-time basis. This is a strategic leadership position that will drive the design, development, and implementation of robust, scalable Java-based solutions across our organisation. This role represents a significant opportunity to shape our technical strategy and influence the future of our software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design enterprise-scale Java applications, establishing best practices and technical standards across development teams
• Lead the development of complex software solutions, ensuring code quality, scalability, and maintainability
• Mentor and coach senior software engineers and development teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with product, business, and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure adherence to architectural patterns and coding standards
• Evaluate and recommend technology choices, frameworks, and tools to enhance development efficiency and system performance
• Drive innovation by researching emerging technologies and methodologies relevant to Java ecosystem development
• Participate in strategic technical planning and contribute to the long-term vision of our engineering capabilities
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing solutions that improve system reliability and performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• 10-12 years of professional software development experience with strong expertise in Java and related technologies
• Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale, distributed systems and microservices architectures
• Deep knowledge of Java frameworks and ecosystems, including Spring, Hibernate, and related technologies
• Hands on experience in Snowflake (a great plus)
• Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring engineering teams and driving technical excellence
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and architectural best practices
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Proficiency in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code approaches
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to think strategically about technology decisions
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
