Job summary

QUESS ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. seeks a skilled software engineer in Singapore with 4+ years of hands-on enterprise app development. You will analyse requirements, design and build scalable solutions using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices, while integrating with relational databases and enterprise servers.

You will write clean code, perform testing, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to documentation and SDLC improvements in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications.
• Strong Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) expertise.
• Proficiency with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with application servers (WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere, Tomcat).
• Proficiency with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business and technical requirements and develop software solutions based on functional specifications.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Develop clean, reusable, and maintainable code in accordance with software engineering best practices.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices to support business applications.
• Perform unit testing and support integration testing, system testing, UAT, deployment, and production support.
• Troubleshoot defects, performance issues, and production incidents with timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with BAs, Tech Leads, QA, and stakeholders through the SDLC.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement for quality and performance.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including design specs, deployment procedures, and guides.
• Ensure applications comply with security policies, coding standards, and best practices.
