Job summary

COMBUILDER PTE LTD is seeking a hands-on Senior Java Developer to lead the design, development and delivery of backend services. You will mentor engineers, set coding standards and drive quality, security and performance across the stack.

The role requires deep Java experience, REST API development and experience guiding a delivery team through CI/CD, testing and production support. Based in Singapore, you will collaborate with project stakeholders to clarify requirements and plan milestones.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands-on Java development experience, with experience leading a development team or technical delivery.
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns and application design.
• Experience developing backend services, REST APIs and integrating applications.
• Familiarity with relational databases, SQL and database performance considerations.
• Experience with Git, build tools, automated testing and CI/CD.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and team leadership skills.
• Experience with Spring Boot or the Spring Framework is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing and delivery of Java applications.
• Guide developers on technical solutions, coding standards and development best practices.
• Review code and designs to ensure software quality, security, performance and maintainability.
• Work with project managers, architects and stakeholders to clarify requirements, estimate effort and plan development tasks.
• Troubleshoot complex application issues and support integration, deployment and production issue resolution.
• Oversee unit and integration testing, and support CI/CD and release activities.
• Mentor team members and maintain technical documentation.
