QUESSCORP SOLUTIONS PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced backend architect/engineer to own the architecture, design, development and testing of core backend services and enterprise applications using Java.

You will drive modular microservice architectures for scalable integration and lead performance optimizations across the stack. The role requires 10+ years in professional software development with strong Java expertise, API design, and experience guiding technical decisions and code

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related discipline.
10+ years of professional software development experience with backend focus.
Strong Java development experience and enterprise backend design/maintenance.
Experience with microservice architecture, service integration and API design.
Experience with high-concurrency, high-throughput systems and reliability.
Solid software architecture and maintainable design knowledge.
Experience leading technical design decisions and code reviews.
Practical experience with automated testing and CI/CD including Docker/Jenkins.
Experience diagnosing production issues, releases, and live system stability.
Ability to communicate trade-offs and collaborate across business functons.
Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards.

Responsibilities

Own architecture, design, development, testing and ongoing improvement of core backend services and enterprise apps using Java.
Design and evolve modular microservice architectures and service interfaces for scalability and integration.
Engineer high-concurrency, high-availability backend systems and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Design robust business workflows with data integrity, traceability and recovery.
Set technical direction via architecture reviews, design discussions, code reviews and standards.
Lead production investigations, root-cause analysis and preventive improvements for stability.
Strengthen delivery with automated testing, CI/CD, release controls and tooling.
Collaborate with product, QA, infra and other engineers to translate requirements into solutions.
Coach and mentor engineers, develop technical capability and promote sound practices.
Evaluate and adopt engineering tools, including AI-assisted development tools, with proper checks.
