Job summary

A global investment bank with a development center in Singapore is seeking an experienced Java/J2EE developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications. You will build robust APIs and microservices, collaborating with analysts, PMs, leads, and teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of Java experience, strong Java 8+, Spring Boot, REST, Kafka, IBM MQ, and cloud/CI/CD exposure, in a banking domain context is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Java/J2EE development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Core Java (Java 8+).
• Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices.
• Proficient with Kafka and IBM MQ.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and CI/CD tools.
• Familiarity with Maven/Gradle and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of Git, GitLab, JUnit, Cucumber, Jira, Sonar.
• DevOps mindset and production support experience.
• Banking or Cash Management domain experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications.
• Build robust APIs and microservices using modern frameworks.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Technical Leads, and Development Teams.
• Participate in solution design, code reviews, and performance optimization.
• Implement high-quality solutions following Agile, TDD, and BDD methodologies.
• Support testing, deployment activities, and production issue resolution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and best engineering practices.
