Job summary

Peoplebank Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Java/Big Data Engineer in Singapore to lead technical studies, document designs, and deliver robust data solutions. You will ensure CI/CD artefacts are integrated, perform code reviews, and collaborate with project managers while mentoring junior team members.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Spark, Kafka, Hadoop stack, RESTful services, and mature SDLC practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT/Programming & System Analysis
8+ years in software development
5+ years in Java/J2EE development
Hands-on data ingest/processing with Spark streaming and Spark
Hands-on messaging systems like Kafka, Flume, ActiveMQ, MQSeries or RabbitMQ
Hands-on Hadoop stack (HDFS/HBase/Hive/ORC/Parquet)
Build tools: Maven/SBT/Ant; UML; RESTful services; CI: Jenkins/TeamCity; source control: SVN/GIT; TDD: JUnit; Jira/QC
Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in SDLC and eager to follow technology trends
Mentoring experience and desire to grow team skills

Responsibilities

Lead technical studies into proposed solutions with infrastructure and big data experts
Document proposed designs and develop solutions
Ensure CI/CD artefacts are part of the solution
Perform code reviews and coach team members
Interact with project managers and provide reporting
Monitor technical risk and escalate to management as needed
Research, design and develop software, analyze user needs
Update and enhance software, including testing and validation procedures
Collaborate with engineers to integrate hardware and software systems
