Job summary

BeathChapman Pte Ltd is assisting a MAS-regulated bank in Singapore to hire a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer (Cloud Operations & DR). This role owns production cloud infrastructure, DR readiness and liaises with group IT to ensure resilience and regulatory alignment.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on cloud experience with strong incident response, security awareness and vendor management, delivering robust and auditable infrastructure in a cloud-first estate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in IT infrastructure, cloud operations or infrastructure engineering, with experience in MAS-regulated banks or similar institutions.
• Hands-on ownership of production cloud infrastructure across AWS/Azure/GCP/Alibaba Cloud; this is an operating role.
• End-to-end disaster recovery and business continuity planning, testing, remediation and audit-ready evidence.
• Solid understanding of cloud/networking (VPCs, routing, DNS, firewalls, hybrid connectivity).
• Experience handling infrastructure incidents, root-cause analysis and post-incident reporting.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and DevSecOps practices (Terraform, pipelines, controlled production changes).
• Experience with cloud providers, MSPs, data centre vendors and external suppliers.
• Familiarity with ITSM, change management and SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate the bank's production cloud infrastructure, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, capacity planning and cost management.
• Lead disaster recovery and business continuity exercises, testing and remediation with audit-ready documentation.
• Manage on-premise and DR environment hardware, networking gear, maintenance and refresh cycles.
• Oversee patching and vulnerability remediation per policy and SLAs, with validation.
• Lead infrastructure incident and problem management, coordinating internal teams and vendors to resolution.
• Maintain monitoring and alerts for performance, availability and security risks.
• Represent group network function in local infrastructure discussions and designs.
• Manage cloud/hybrid connectivity, including routing, DNS, firewalls, segmentation, and DR linkages.
• Oversee cloud providers, data centre partners and vendors, including due diligence and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity on access controls, vulnerability management and hardening.
• Contribute to architecture reviews and automation initiatives for operational efficiency.

Our client is an established financial institution licensed and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, serving business customers across the region. Backed by a well-capitalised international technology group, it operates a cloud-first estate with a small on-premise footprint retained for disaster recovery.

The bank is now hiring a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer (Cloud Operations & DR) to take broad ownership of its cloud infrastructure, operational resilience and day-to-day infrastructure services. This is a senior individual contributor role within a deliberately lean team reporting into senior technology leadership. It will suit someone who remains genuinely hands-on while being equally comfortable with vendors, incidents, regulatory expectations and stakeholders across Singapore and China.

Job responsibilities

• Own and operate the bank's production cloud infrastructure, covering deployment, configuration, optimisation, monitoring, capacity planning and cost management
• Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning, testing and remediation, ensuring critical services can be restored within agreed recovery objectives and preparing the supporting evidence for audit and management review
• Manage the limited on-premise and disaster recovery environment, including hardware, networking equipment, maintenance and technology refresh
• Manage patching and vulnerability remediation in line with internal policy and agreed service levels, including pre and post deployment validation
• Lead infrastructure incident and problem management, coordinating internal teams and vendors through resolution, root cause analysis and post-incident reporting
• Maintain monitoring and alerting across the estate, proactively identifying performance, availability and security risks
• Own the bank's local infrastructure relationship with the wider group network function, specifying requirements, reviewing designs and holding delivery to account
• Manage cloud and hybrid network connectivity, including routing, firewalls, segmentation, DNS and connectivity between production and disaster recovery environments
• Oversee cloud providers, data centre partners and technology vendors, covering due diligence, service quality review, escalation and performance management
• Partner with cybersecurity stakeholders on access controls, vulnerability management, infrastructure hardening and audit readiness
• Contribute to infrastructure design and continuous improvement, including automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives, periodic architecture reviews, and opportunities to improve operational efficiency through AIOps

Job requirements

Essential

• At least 8 years across IT infrastructure, cloud operations or infrastructure engineering, with meaningful experience gained inside a bank or other MAS-regulated financial institution
• Strong hands-on ownership of production cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, GCP or Alibaba Cloud. This is an operating role, not an oversight one
• Proven ownership of disaster recovery and business continuity exercises end to end, including failover testing, remediation and preparation of evidence for audit or management review
• Sound understanding of cloud and enterprise networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, peering, hybrid connectivity, DNS, firewalls and network segmentation. This role requires solid network competence rather than specialist network engineering depth
• Experience managing infrastructure incidents, root cause investigation, problem management and post-incident reporting
• Working knowledge of patch management, vulnerability remediation, access controls and infrastructure security within a regulated environment
• Practical familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and DevSecOps, such as Terraform, deployment pipelines and controlled production change
• Experience managing cloud providers, managed service partners, data centre vendors and other external suppliers
• Familiarity with IT service management, change management and operational service levels

Advantageous

• Experience with Alibaba Cloud in a production environment
• Cloud or networking certifications such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud or CCNA, although equivalent practical experience will be considered
