Job summary

Allied Search Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior IT Engineer (Oracle Database Administrator) in Singapore to ensure database stability, performance, and reliability. You will monitor systems, address incidents, and support ongoing upgrades, patches, and recoveries across Oracle DB environments.

The role requires hands-on DBA experience, SQL skills, and familiarity with change control processes to support production and rollout activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as required.
• Experience in Oracle Database Administration and SQL.
• Strong understanding of database monitoring and performance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Track database stability, uptime, efficiency, and resource utilisation through enterprise-grade monitoring platforms.
• Analyse and address database notifications, operational issues, and system performance constraints.
• Provide on-call coverage and assist with incident management and resolution.
• Deploy, set up, maintain, and upgrade Oracle database products and associated utilities.
• Design and manage database storage components, including tablespaces, database objects, and indexes.
• Evaluate, schedule, and implement database modifications following established IT change control processes.
• Assist with application rollouts, database version deployments, and schema transition activities.
• Evaluate potential impacts and prepare recovery or reversal procedures for production modifications.
• Perform scheduled failover, switchover, backup validation, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Evaluate, validate, and deploy Oracle patches, maintenance releases, and software updates.
• Assist with database audits, information security assessments, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Create, validate, and periodically improve disaster recovery procedures and plans.
