Job summary

PSA Singapore is seeking a highly competent Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Singapore. You will manage enterprise Oracle Database environments, with focus on RAC, GoldenGate, and SharePlex, delivering provisioning, backup, recovery, performance tuning, and change management.

The role requires 3+ years hands-on experience, scripting and automation skills, and the ability to work independently in a 24×7 roster.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Computing, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• 3+ years hands-on experience administering Oracle Database, including RAC, GoldenGate, and/or SharePlex.
• Good understanding of Oracle HA, DR, backup/recovery and performance tuning.
• Scripting and automation for database administration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
• Able to work independently and in a team with good communication.
• Willing to participate in 24x7 operational roster.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise database platforms, focusing on Oracle Database, RAC, GoldenGate, and SharePlex.
• Deliver database services: provisioning, monitoring, backup and recovery, performance tuning, change management.
• Ensure security, availability, resilience, and optimal performance of database services.
• Design, implement, and maintain database standards, policies, and procedures.
• Automate database administration tasks through scripting and tooling.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on projects and changes.
• Evaluate and recommend database technologies and best practices to improve efficiency.

• Administer and support enterprise database platforms, with a primary focus on Oracle Database, Oracle RAC, Oracle GoldenGate, and Quest SharePlex.
• Deliver database services, including database provisioning, monitoring, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and change management.
• Ensure the security, availability, resilience, and optimal performance of database services.
• Design, implement, and maintain database standards, policies, and operational procedures.
• Automate database administration tasks through scripting and tooling.
• Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to support projects, system enhancements, and change requests.
• Evaluate and recommend database technologies, tools, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team, with good communication skills.
• Willing to participate in a 24×7 operational support roster.

The following will be advantageous

• Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server.
• Familiarity with SQL Server high availability technologies, such as Always On Availability Groups.
• Experience with other database platforms such as MySQL.
