Senior Investment Data Architect for AI-Enabled Platform

Job summary

MAS Monetary Authority of Singapore is seeking a senior, hands-on Data Architect to own the data design for investment management platforms. You will define sourcing, ingestion, structuring and governance across front, middle and back office, while staying close to implementation with models and artefacts.

You will lead data design reviews, provide technical direction to data specialists, and ensure alignment with MAS technology standards and Whole of Government compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience across data architecture, data modelling or senior data engineering, with substantial experience designing data solutions for investment management or financial services.
• Deep knowledge of investment data domains including security/reference data, positions/holdings, transactions, valuations/pricing, performance, benchmarks and IBOR/ABOR.
• Experience designing reconciliations across IBOR, ABOR, custodians, market data providers and downstream reporting systems.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Kafka, or cloud-native data services on AWS or Azure; Docker/Kubernetes.
• Strong relational database design experience, preferably Oracle, including performance and high-availability considerations.
• Track record of delivering large-scale data migrations or platform replatforming in financial services.
• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, metadata management and data quality frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with vector search and embedding-based retrieval for AI use cases; capable of hybrid search.

Responsibilities

• Design conceptual, logical and physical data models for investment data domains (security, holdings, transactions, pricing, performance).
• Define source-to-target data flows and mappings, governance standards and end-to-end auditability.
• Develop unstructured data models and retrieval architecture, including vector embedding and retrieval strategies.
• Define integration patterns for batch, API, messaging and event-driven exchange across the investment-data ecosystem.
• Define platform direction for on-premise and cloud data warehouses and lakehouse architectures.
• Lead architecture reviews, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure governance, metadata and access controls across analytics and AI use cases.
