Job summary

Crown Worldwide Group is seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our Singapore-based Design & Build team, leading the design development and delivery of commercial interior and workplace projects.

The role blends creative leadership with strategic thinking and commercial acumen, translating client objectives into practical, viable design solutions from concept through to construction.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture or related discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience in commercial interior or workplace design, preferably in Design & Build or fit-out.
• Proven lead experience from concept to construction and completion.
• Strong visuals, detailing, materials knowledge and buildability.
• Strong commercial acumen aligning design with budgets and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead concepts, space planning, design development and material selection for commercial interiors.
• Translate client briefs into creative, functional, commercially viable designs.
• Present design concepts and defend solutions to clients and stakeholders.
• Develop projects from concept through tender and construction while preserving design intent.
• Collaborate with PMs, QS, documentation specialists and 3D artists for coordinated solutions.
• Coordinate with external consultants, contractors and vendors; review technical drawings and specs.

Senior Interior Designer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our Singapore-based Design & Build team, leading the design development and delivery of commercial interior and workplace projects.

The role combines creative design leadership, strategic thinking and commercial acumen, requiring the ability to translate client objectives and project constraints into compelling, practical and commercially viable design solutions. You will work closely with clients and multidisciplinary internal and external project teams from initial brief and concept through to construction and completion.

As the business grows, the role will also provide the opportunity to contribute to the development of the design team and take on increasing leadership responsibility.

What The Role Involves

• Lead the development of concepts, space planning, design development and material solutions for commercial interior and workplace projects.
• Translate client briefs, business objectives and project constraints into creative, functional and commercially aligned design solutions.
• Think strategically about project and client objectives, identifying opportunities to add value through design while balancing budget, programme, buildability and competitive considerations.
• Prepare and deliver compelling design presentations and confidently articulate and champion design solutions to clients and key stakeholders.
• Develop projects from concept through design development, tender and construction, maintaining design intent and quality throughout.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Business Development Leads, Quantity Surveyors / Cost Managers, Documentation Specialists and 3D Visualisation Artists to develop coordinated and commercially viable solutions.
• Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, vendors and suppliers, including reviewing technical information, shop drawings, samples and product specifications to support design development and implementation.
• Participate in site reviews and resolve design and implementation issues in collaboration with project teams and contractors.
• Maintain a high standard of design quality while managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.
• Mentor and support junior and intermediate designers, with the opportunity to develop and lead a growing design team as the Singapore business expands.
• Contribute to design standards, processes and best practices, as well as proposals, pitches and other business development activities.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Skills

Required

• Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Interior Design, Architecture or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in commercial interior, workplace or related design, preferably within a Design & Build or interior fit-out environment.
• Proven experience leading projects from concept through to construction and completion.
• Strong conceptual design, space planning and presentation skills, supported by a sound understanding of interior construction, detailing, materials and buildability.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to develop design solutions that are aligned with client budgets, project costs and competitive market conditions.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to understand broader client and business objectives and translate them into compelling design outcomes.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the confidence to engage with and influence clients and senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant design, visualisation and presentation software such as SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Familiarity with Revit or other 3D modelling platforms is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, contractors, vendors and suppliers.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred

• Background in delivering medium to large-scale corporate workplace and commercial interior projects in Singapore or across Asia.
• Familiarity with Singapore construction practices, authority requirements and industry standards.
• Strong understanding of cost planning and integrating commercial considerations into design development.
• Involvement in proposals, pitches and business development activities.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior and intermediate designers.
• Established industry relationships across consultants, contractors, vendors and suppliers.
