Job summary

CROWN WORLDWIDE SINGAPORE is seeking an experienced Senior Design Technician / Technical Designer to join our Singapore-based Design & Build team. The role focuses on developing detailed documentation for commercial interiors from concept through to completion, collaborating with designers, project managers, consultants and contractors.

The ideal candidate will bring strong AutoCAD (and ideally Revit) proficiency, 8+ years of relevant experience, and a disciplined approach to producing

Qualifications

• Diploma, degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, Architectural Technology, Building Design or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in technical design, interior design documentation or a related role, preferably within commercial workplace or interior fit-out projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial interior construction, detailing, materials, finishes and buildability.
• Proven experience producing coordinated documentation for design development, tender and construction.
• Strong test-fit and space-planning capability, with the ability to interpret hand sketches and conceptual layouts and quickly develop accurate, practical and presentable floor plans.
• Ability to work at pace while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, technical quality and attention to detail.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or other relevant design and documentation software.
• Familiarity with Revit or other 3D modelling/documentation platforms would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Ability to interpret design concepts and develop them into practical and technically resolved solutions.
• Confident communicating directly with contractors, consultants, vendors and product suppliers to obtain, clarify and incorporate technical information.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement structured documentation standards, conventions and workflows that can be consistently applied across multiple projects.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and produce high-quality technical documentation, including plans, sections, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, details, schedules and other project deliverables.
• Rapidly translate conceptual-level, hand-sketched space-planning concepts into accurate and well-presented test-fit floor plans, often working to tight turnaround times.
• Translate design intent into practical, coordinated and buildable solutions, with a strong understanding of interior construction, detailing, materials and finishes.
• Prepare and develop documentation through design development, tender and construction stages for commercial interior fit-out projects.
• Work closely with designers and project teams to develop design information, resolve technical issues and maintain design intent through documentation.
• Liaise directly with contractors, consultants, vendors and product suppliers to obtain and clarify technical information, specifications, details and shop drawings, incorporating relevant information into coordinated drawing packages.
• Coordinate project information across design disciplines and identify potential technical, detailing or buildability issues before they impact delivery.
• Establish, develop and maintain scalable, best-practice documentation standards, drawing conventions, templates and workflows to support consistent and efficient project delivery.
• Carry out quality reviews of drawings and documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, completeness and compliance with project requirements.
• Manage multiple priorities and deliver fast, accurate and high-quality outputs in line with project programmes and deadlines.
• Identify resource requirements and help build and manage a small team of documentation specialists as project and business requirements develop.
• Support projects from inception through to completion, including participation in design reviews, coordination meetings and construction-related discussions as required.
• Contribute to the development of efficient documentation processes and standards and share technical knowledge with the wider team.
• Deliver documentation for medium to large-scale workplace and commercial interior projects.
