Job summary

MSIG Insurance (Singapore) Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced insurance professional to join our team. You will mentor junior staff, develop product and market knowledge, and support client relationships through underwriting guidance and technical advice.

You will review and underwrite business within approval authority, participate in committees, manage credit control, and help improve processes across the department.

Qualifications

• Tertiary education is required.
• Relevant qualifications in general insurance (minimum CGI).

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach junior staff by enhancing their product/ market knowledge.
• Identify and develop potential business areas and maintain professional relationships with existing and potential customers; provide technical advice on customer insurance needs.
• Review, accept and underwrite business within Risk Acceptance Authority and guidelines including claim matters, recommendations on wordings and liaising with MSIJ, MSIG Asia, overseas units and reinsurers.
• Participate in company-level committees for ad-hoc projects to improve and expand operations/business.
• Manage and implement proper credit control procedures and bad debt recovery.
• Ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness in work processes within the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Development

1. Mentor and coach junior staff by enhancing their product/ market knowledge.

Client Management

1. Identify and develop potential business areas and maintain professional relationship with existing and potential customers. This shall include provision of technical advice on customers' insurance need.
