Job summary

Goldtech Resources PTE Ltd is seeking an experienced On-Prem Infrastructure Engineer to deliver day-to-day operations and lead project work across enterprise data centers. You will manage virtualization, storage, backup, and networking to ensure secure, reliable infrastructure.

You will collaborate with architects, storage specialists, and application teams, document procedures, and drive continuous improvement through automation and standardization in a fast-paced IT environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–6 years in infrastructure support, systems administration, or data centre operations.
• Hands-on with VMware ESXi, Nutanix AHV, Dell VxRail, Windows Server, Linux.
• Experience with Huawei/Dell/Hitachi storage and Dell PowerProtect/NetWorker/Data Domain.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support VMware ESXi and Nutanix AHV virtualization environments.
• Manage Dell VxRail cluster health, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux OS.
• Provision and manage VMs, storage, and virtual networking across enterprise infra.
• Support enterprise storage platforms (Huawei, Dell, Hitachi) and backups (PowerProtect, NetWorker, Data Domain).
• Participate in infrastructure implementation, migrations, and decommissioning activities.
• Prepare technical docs, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Provide Level 2 incident support and ensure SLAs.

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced On-Prem Infrastructure Engineer to provide technical support across enterprise data center infrastructure and virtualization environments. This role combines day-to-day operational support with project delivery, giving you the opportunity to work on infrastructure upgrades, platform migrations, hardware refresh, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will work closely with infrastructure architects, project teams, storage specialists, and application teams to maintain secure, reliable, and high-performing IT infrastructure while supporting enterprise infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Administration

• Administer and support VMware ESXi and Nutanix AHV virtualization environments.
• Manage Dell VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure, including cluster health, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Provision and manage virtual machines, storage, and virtual networking across enterprise infrastructure.

Storage & Backup Administration

• Support enterprise storage platforms, including Huawei, Hitachi, and Dell storage solutions.
• Perform storage provisioning, replication, capacity monitoring, snapshot management, and performance optimization.
• Administer enterprise backup and recovery solutions, including Dell PowerProtect, NetWorker, and Data Domain.
• Perform backup validation, restoration testing, and disaster recovery support.

Project Delivery

• Participate in infrastructure implementation, technology refresh, migration, and decommissioning activities.
• Support data center relocation, infrastructure consolidation, and platform upgrade projects.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, build guides, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Work closely with project and application teams to ensure infrastructure readiness for deployments and production releases.

Incident & Operational Support

• Provide Level 2 technical support for infrastructure-related incidents.
• Troubleshoot issues across servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and backup environments.
• Perform root cause analysis and elevate complex issues where appropriate.
• Ensure incidents and service requests are resolved within agreed service levels.

Change & Continuous Improvement

• Support infrastructure changes in accordance with established change management processes.
• Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation and configuration records.
• Identify opportunities to automate operational tasks and improve infrastructure efficiency.
• Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to junior support engineers.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 6 years of experience in infrastructure support, systems administration, or enterprise data centre operations.
• Hands‑on experience administering:
• VMware ESXi
• Nutanix AHV
• Dell VxRail
• Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
• Linux (RHEL, CentOS, AlmaLinux or equivalent)
• Experience supporting enterprise storage platforms such as Huawei, Dell, or Hitachi.
• Working knowledge of Dell PowerProtect, Dell NetWorker, or Dell Data Domain backup solutions.
• Good understanding of SAN/NAS technologies, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS/SMB, multipathing, and LUN management.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• Experience using enterprise ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or similar.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
