Job summary

State Street’s Hedge Fund Services unit seeks a seasoned Client Services AVP to oversee fund administration, accounting, NAV, and audit coordination for multiple client funds. You will guide a team of fund accountants, ensure compliance with LPAs, and manage client expectations with investors, auditors, and partners.

You will lead onboarding of existing funds and launches of new funds while maintaining robust internal workflows and escalation procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• College degree in business, mathematics, finance or economics; accounting concentration a plus.
• 8–10 years of accounting experience, including 3–4 years of managerial experience.
• Experience in hybrid private equity/private credit/hedge industry; CPA/CFA a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of fund administration, including allocation of income to investors, determination of management and incentive fees in accordance with waterfall provisions, and processing capital events.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including preparation and review of financial statements, partner capital statements, and Net Asset Value (NAV).
• Review Limited Partnership Agreements (LPA) and offering memorandums and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Coordinate annual audit and tax return preparation with external accounting firms.
• Manage internal workflow to meet client deadlines and expectations.
• Maintain relationships with client contacts, investors, auditors, lawyers, and banking personnel; act as escalation point for client queries.
• Identify unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity and report in accordance with policy.
• Lead and mentor a team of fund accountants; manage performance, feedback, and development.
• Foster collaboration across teams; onboard existing funds and launch new funds.
• Participate in special client or internal projects as required.
