Job summary

CMC-APAC PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the modernisation of the Green Energy Tech (GET) Platform, a smart utility management system for large-scale monitoring and analytics.

You will design end-to-end solutions using Golang, time-series data tech, and event streaming, collaborating with product, infra, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders while applying AI-assisted tooling to improve software quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in the modernisation of the Green Energy Tech (GET) Platform, a smart utility management system that supports large-scale utility monitoring, analytics, and operational workflows.

Working closely with the team lead and engineering team, you will analyse the existing platform, own solution design, and implement modernisation initiatives using modern technologies, databases, and engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse the existing platform architecture and codebase to understand system behaviour, dependencies, and technical constraints.
• Own end-to-end solution design and implementation planning for platform modernisation initiatives.
• Modernise data ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics capabilities for large-scale time-series workloads.
• Design and develop scalable backend services using Golang.
• Implement integrations with databases, event-streaming platforms, and supporting services.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to deliver modernisation initiatives.
• Leverage AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle, including code analysis, development, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Follow engineering best practices in software design, testing, observability, automation, and operational excellence.

Requirements

Must Have

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong proficiency in modern Golang development.
• Deep understanding of time-series data systems, including ingestion, transformation, aggregation, storage, and querying, including experience in implementing and operating such solutions.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and modern web application architecture.
• Experience with Kafka, event streaming, or real-time data processing platforms.
• Experience designing and building scalable, resilient, and maintainable software systems.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity and software quality.

Preferred

• Experience with TimescaleDB or other time-series databases.
• Experience with Azure Cloud and Kubernetes.
• Experience leading application or platform modernisation initiatives.
• Experience in IoT, utilities, energy, or industrial systems.
