Job summary

SMBC Group seeks an experienced Regulatory Compliance professional to oversee securities-related activities from the perspective of the ultimate parent. You will coordinate with Compliance and Financial Crime teams across banking and securities entities to ensure consistent application of AML and regulatory standards.

The role involves advising on regulatory implications of new products and initiatives, aligning governance frameworks, and supporting cross-border governance and information

Qualifications

• Degree in law, finance, accounting, economics or business.
• Minimum 6 years in Compliance, Legal, Regulatory Advisory, Risk, Audit or related functions.
• Strong knowledge of global markets regulations in Singapore and APAC.
• Familiarity with Securities & Futures Act, Financial Advisers Act, Banking Act, MAS regulations.
• Experience with regional projects or cross-border governance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of securities-related activities and compliance frameworks from the ultimate parent.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Financial Crime teams across entities to apply AML standards consistently.
• Support integration of policies, procedures and governance across Bank and Securities businesses.
• Advise on regulatory implications of new products, services, initiatives and joint marketing.
• Monitor and test compliance for dual-hatted employees and collaborative models.
• Coordinate with Head Office and regional stakeholders on regulatory matters affecting securities and global markets.
• Support governance initiatives on cross-entity supervision and information sharing.
