Job summary

Mimecast is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer for Incydr, embedded within the Engineering team and collaborating with Professional Services and customer accounts to drive rapid operational health and value realization. This role blends engineering execution with direct customer interaction, including live troubleshooting, integration work, and tailored scripting.

You will work in a hybrid model with occasional travel to customer sites, partnering with SMEs across engineering to deliver

Qualifications

5+ years building software with customer-facing troubleshooting.
Ability to read and navigate large codebases independently.
Practical scripting and integration experience.
Genuine comfort owning technical conversations directly with a customer.
Comfort troubleshooting with incomplete information.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Comfort working daily with AI coding assistants.

Responsibilities

Partner with customer-facing teams, customers, and fellow engineers to diagnose and resolve technical pain points.
Take full ownership of each engagement from diagnosis to resolution with customers.
Get access to Incydr codebase and deployment tooling to ship fixes.
Build and troubleshoot custom scripts and integrations for each customer.
Partner with Incydr Engineering on issues needing deeper product involvement.
Spot early signals and flag issues before they grow.
Coach and enable a customer's team through training and documentation.
Bring learnings back to product and engineering to shape the roadmap.
